Kirk and Grasby Medallists

Kirk Medal

According to many the Altona Cricket Club would not have come into existence in the VSDCA were it not for the exceptional work put in by Frank Kirk. A foundation member when the club entered the Sub District ranks and past president Frank was recognised for his hard work by having the first XI Best & Fairest medal named in his honour. This award, voted by the umpires at the end of each game is awarded to the best player in the first XI for the season.

Grasby Medal

Joe Grasby by all accounts was an excellent clubman. Captain of various elevens but mainly the 2nds, the 2nd XI best player medal was named after him in tribute for his many years of service to the club. Joe played 140 games for Altona in a career which started in 1974/75. This award is also voted on by the umpires at the end of each game.
